How do I cancel a hotel reservation made through Yahoo travel. Can I do it online?

It’s a hassle to cancel a reservation, as I just learned. The hotel cannot cancel a reservation made through Yahoo, which is really Travelocity, as I lerned. Since my cancellation was being made within 24 hours of the reservation day, Yahoo said I couldn’t get a refund and my card had been already charged. I held while the Yahoo rep called the hotel. She came back to say that she cancelled it, but Yahoo had charged by card and will issue me a refund on the card with in 30 days. 30 days is a long time. I’m wondering if I’ll see a refund or not. I did get the cancellation number the hotel gave the Yahoo rep., but I don’t think this is the last of this.

I posted to let everyone BEWARE of cancelling within 24 hours of a reservation you’ve made online through a site as opposed to the hotel’s site.

    Call the hotel and cancel.

    As the middleman (yahoo) may or may not get the cancel info through and they could bill you for a no - show,
    I would fax the cancel directly to the hotel as soon as possible and phone them to confirm they received it.

    Been there, got charged for a no show - take no chances.

    well: yourself must listen up very carefully ! yes “Reservations”
    has to be canciled with in 24hrs “Priority” because “Hotel Desk “depending upon of where you’er staying at ok?
