I made a hotel reservation online for 2 nights and pre paid with a credit card?

Something came up and I cancelled for 1 of the 2 nights. The amount was refunded back to my credit card, but I already paid off my credit card, how will this work? The refunded amount is not showing up on my credit account.

Call the hotel and verify that it was refunded to your credit card, and ask for the details of the refund, including the exact amount refunded and the exact date it was refunded. Then call your credit card company to verify that the hotel told you the truth.
It often happens that someone says they are refunding a credit card but doesn’t actually do it, because they forget or want to cheat you. You have 60 days from when the credit card monthly bill is sent to you, in which you can dispute the charge in writing with the credit card company.
Once the refund finally shows on your credit card account, it will show as a credit, or negative balance. Your next bill will be reduced by that amount. Or you can request a check from them. Or, if you don’t use it and don’t request a check, they will eventually send you a check automatically.
