Can I check into a hotel with the consent of my parents?

Catherine O asked:

I’m 19 years old and I made hotel (Wyndham) reservation online, using my credit card. I never did check the age requirement (which is 21),now I’m worried they might not refund my money back even if I try to check in.
Is it possible to get ‘permission’ or some type of consent from my parents saying they will take responsibilities of me if anything should happen. It is not like they would need to but would the hotel allow me to check in?
Or
Let’s say I forget my ID, would I be allowed to check in?

    nope and nope….

you have to be 21 to rent a room, they don’t care about your parents and without ID they won’t let you in.

You could get your money back if you cancel within 24-48 hours. But you can not get consent, you have to be 18 years old, it varys from state. But you need an ID, no exceptions.

have to have id or they will think you are stealing card #. have paper but just check in and more than likely you paid they will just get verification. Then if they say no say then I need my money refunded. Do not take friends in with you. is the erson your going with 21? If so then say if they say anthiung that they are using there name and your paying!!

They probably won’t allow you to check in, parental consent or not. They would probably also try to charge you for the first night if you waited until check-in to try it.

Your best bet is to cancel the reservation beforehand, as you can usually do that without penalty if it’s within 48 hours.

I personally think they would let you check-in since you already made the reservation..and you are over 18.
But, if you have a college, or some kind of a picture i.d. that doesn’t have your birthdate on it…it might be a good idea to try and check in with that first ;) If you were brave you could call the hotel and ask them..but that might blow your chance of ‘’sneaking” around the fact…
